Date & Know Your Browning BT-100
Production of the BT-100 single barrel trap shotgun began in 1995.  It is no longer in production.

The information below is critical must have knowledge necessary for ordering parts, wood, and barrels for your Browning BT-100.

1.   Locating Your Serial Number
 The true complete serial number of the BT-100 can only be found  underneath of the TOP LEVER. All other numbers represent production sequence only and are used by the factory to denote what barrel set is paired with an individual receiver. See figure 1-A to locate the top lever on your firearm.

Below use the chart to determine the manufacture year of your BT-100

1995-1997 In 1976 Browning re-standardized its serial number identification. This was used until 1998.

3. BT-100 Type H99=12 ga. Grade 1
J99-12 ga. Stainless Steel Receiver
Serial
Number Example:

01001NVH99

This would be an BT-100 12 ga. Grade 1 shotgun, manufactured in 1995 with the serial number 01001.
1998-Present In 1998 Browning redid the standardization of its serial number identifications to work with its new data base program, Oracle.
